It is a dream of many to spend the night in a beautifully renovated farmhouse surrounded by authenticity and an interior of timeless design. This is possible in IJlst – or Drylts, as the Frisians say – one of the Frisian eleven cities in the heart of the lake district of southwest Friesland.
What once was built as a utilitarian farm to keep dairy cattle is now the eye catcher at the outskirts of ‘Old IJlst’. The completely renovated farmhouse has a main house that is for the most part authentic and has been converted to contain two spacious suites for guests.
At the rear part of the farm – the barn from bygone times – a new house was built that is disconnected from the main house and is used for special occasions.
